Accessible Lavatories
The accessible lavatory project is developing a standard that clearly defines an "accessible" lavatory for single and twin aisle aircraft. The standard seeks to harmonize existing international guidelines into a single standard that will raise the current level and consistency of accessibility for vehicle lavatories. The standard is derived from bio-mechanics research, as well as consultation with commercial aircraft manufacturers. The standard for accessible lavatories is being used as a basis for the design of the next generation of accessible aircraft lavatories.
